Fly Cup Enterprises: Creating Opportunities. Making a Difference.
Established in 2000, Fly Cup Enterprises is a multi-faceted Scottish charity and social enterprise based in Inverurie. The organisation was created to provide training and employment opportunities to adults and young people with learning difficulties and disabilities, ADHD and autism within the catering and hospitality sector.
For over twenty-five years, Fly Cup has supported numerous adults and young people to develop the skills, confidence and experience needed to enter the world of employment. Operating from its Inverurie base, the charity provides a secure and supported environment where trainees gain practical, hands-on experience across a range of settings including a kitchen, bakery, café, meeting and venue spaces, and office environment.

Supporting Individuals Through Personalised Training
Each trainee at Fly Cup Enterprises works to a personalised training plan tailored to their individual needs. Training is delivered in a supportive and structured environment, enabling individuals to build confidence, increase self-esteem and develop independence.
Fly Cup is an accredited training and learning centre and currently provides opportunities for trainees to work towards nationally recognised qualifications, including Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland (REHIS), Qualifications Scotland (formerly SQA) Scottish Vocational Qualifications, and ASDAN certifications.
Developing Skills for Employment
Trainees gain practical experience across a diverse range of opportunities, including:
- Cooking and baking
- Customer service and hospitality within the coffee shop and conference venues
- Administrative and office skills
- General housekeeping and domestic duties
- Delivery of external catering services
- Supporting events and pop-up shops
The organisation also works closely with other catering establishments in the area to support the development of temporary work placements, helping trainees gain additional experience in real-world environments.

A Charity with a Community Focus
As a registered charity, Fly Cup Enterprises relies on community support to continue and develop the services across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.
Support can be shown in practical ways, including visiting the Fly Cup Coffee Shop, utilising the catering services or hiring the charity’s conference and venue spaces.
Whilst customers are drawn to the welcoming team and freshly made goods, it is the organisation’s social purpose — providing meaningful training and employment opportunities — that sets Fly Cup Enterprises apart.
